3.4. Yesterday the evening forecast told that the wind wasn't going to be as strong as predicted and it was slowing down next morning so we decided to sail away. The first few hours we did get some wind but it died out so we had to motor most of the way to the northwest corner of Ibiza. The swell was quite annoying as we didn't get any help from the sails during the night. We both did get a bit of sleep during the night and Nina fell properly asleep before 6 am. I dropped anchor at the San Antomio bay at 8 am and went to sleep. We woke up at 11 am and after breakfast made our way a short distance to Cala Portinatx which is small bay at the northeast corner of Ibiza. Again, a beautiful warm day but no decent wind. We anchored in the bay with two other boats and took the dinghy to the shore. The little town was pretty dead with only a handful of people around. We went to bed early and slept soundfully over 10 hours.
4.4. We woke up shortly after 7 am, made some coffee and set sails. Some clouds in the sky and the temperature was 12 degrees Celsius. The sky cleared up soon and the wind was good from the west, all the day between 6-10 m/s. We sailed almost 10 hours without trimming the sail, we did all the way with our oversized jib (genoa) to Puerto Andratz in Mallorca.  We have found out that if the wind is almost behind it’s best to sail with the genoa only. It’s much easier and the main doesn’t really give any extra speed. Genaker would have been the other option but with the unpredictable winds it’s usually not an option. Today, however, it would have been a good choice. The dolphins came to visit us three times during the day. I trolled with my new rod all the way without any luck. The temperature didn’t get to more than 18 degrees Celsius. Very well maintained harbor and they even answered the VHF and an english speaking marinero showed us a berth. Even the paperwork was done on the boat. Very nice shovers and a fast wifi. But the price is 46 € for a night. From now on we try to visit the marinas only once in a few days because of the high harbour fees. Tomorrow we plan to follow the southwest coastline of Mallorca but skip the tourist city Palma.
